Jerry is internationally recognized for his work in police grappling and regularly instructs law enforcement officers from around the world. He is the founder of the LEO Defense Systems curriculum, currently taught to agencies across the United States. Jerry is an 18-year veteran of a local police department.

Michal Orzel brings over 30 years of martial arts experience to our academy. His journey began in Poland, where he started judo at just eight years old. Through years of hard work, he became a national junior champion and a member of the Polish National Judo Team, representing his country for many seasons. Michal also holds a

Michal Orzel brings over 30 years of martial arts experience to our academy. His journey began in Poland, where he started judo at just eight years old. Through years of hard work, he became a national junior champion and a member of the Polish National Judo Team, representing his country for many seasons. Michal also holds a master’s degree in physical education, giving him a strong foundation in teaching methodology and athletic development.
After moving to the United States, Michal expanded his training to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai, eventually stepping into the world of mixed martial arts and earning the WFC Championship belt.
He is currently a 3rd-degree black belt in Judo and a 2nd-degree black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Michal has won multiple medals at IBJJF and NAGA events and continues to compete in the Masters divisions. For the past 15 years, he has coached both kids and adults, known for his technical knowledge, patient instruction, and ability to develop students of all skill levels.
Outside the gym, Michal serves as a Master Defensive Tactics Instructor for the Nevada Department of Corrections, where he trains officers in effective control and self-defense techniques.
